Coronation Street episode review, Weds 23 May, 8.30pm

With Ali's new-found relationship with Michelle really improving, Ryan needs his mam and the poor doc gets dropped. Meanwhile, Gary's statement means that David gets 18 months, suspended. The reason David is in trouble sits in the Rovers with Alya. Every dog has his day.

Fiz has gone from sanctimonious again to jealous and acting upon her mini mean girl daughter's lies. So Ty is in the doghouse, as Fiz thinks he is after the new mechanic, Abi, Seb's mum.

Ryan arrives and has had a Dallas/Dynasty moment, as this is the third incarnation of the character. He has gone from drug dealer to comedy skit from the Inbetweeners. He falls over drunk, cue canned laughter.

David comes home and Max blanks him. Poor lad feels neglected. Shona is to turning into one helluva fine character, in the true tradition of mighty and marvellous Corrie women. She goes to see Alya and inform her that he is trouble. "Your boyfriend is not who you think he is." You tell her!

Sarah visits Nicola as she feels like Gary does, that she needs some support. Little do they know her online friend from the mum's net style website is actually Mr Phelan.

Shona advises David that he must go to the police. She has a point, as it turns out David is not the only victim. Michelle rings son number one and tries to find out he his interview went. Son number 2 (I forget which one is the birth son!) Offers to help help out with Robert's stag do.

Yasmeen is upset that Zeedan is upping out of Weatherfield. London is his destination and for Corrie characters, there seems to be no Virgin train which is only just over 2 hours from there to Euston. Maybe if there was, Ty could put Hope on it, as she is continuing to lie or repeat things to wind her mum up.

Gary calls in on Nicola and the two of them view a video of a woman she has befriended. Nic is very intelligent, so why does she not suspect that no picture on the profile = trouble.

Zeedan packs up his camouflage t shirts and decides to leave. Leanne says goodbye and you realise they would have been a nice couple, apart from the dad thing! Poor Yasmeen misses his exit. Or does she? She runs out into the road and apologises to him. Their relationship is beautifully drawn and she gives him a long goodbye which ends with "Carpe Diem!"

So long, Zeedan. Long may Yasmeen reign, as she is proving to be a fine Corrie matriarch since the Kate/Rana storyline broke.

A good build up to next week's late night Phelan episodes.

So Michelle was supposed to take Ali for his interview at the hospital where he would be working...but Ryan shows up and she drops the doctor for the drunk? The drunken son would be waiting a little longer at the airport I think. Isn't that why she had problems with Ali in the first place, because she kept putting Ryan first? I can see that this character is going to be a pain in the ass.

I know! And why on earth did Michelle refer to Alex and Ryan as "brothers" - they are nothing of the sort!

Ryan came back for the wedding but what about the funeral of his relative Aiden. Remember that fellow? Kate has gone out drowning her sorrows, who knows where Johnny is, Carla is running the factory. Who is arranging the funeral. Or was the due arranged by the orphan Summer to be it. Moving on?

I hope the actor who plays Zeedan gets a part where he plays a happy character. I've only ever seen him play miserable people. Typecast much?

Nicola, what are we going to do with you? Did ya ever notice how parents are the ones who really need the online safety classes they try to give their kids?

Lame exit for Z who after several years on the back burner got interesting as soon as he started at the Bistro. Glad they left the door open and hope he returns a success, even if only for visits.
Is Max a mixed up kid in the making?

Speaking of Kate - the actress portraying her needs some lessons on how to act drunk, as she is completely unconvincing. She could take lessons from her Dad, Johnny (Richard Hawley), who is completely convincing.

Could someone kindly tell me how is Michelle related to Aiden?

They are cousins.

Ryan is on his third personality.

When Aidan arrived he was described as Michelle's distant cousin. Michelle contacted him about the Faktri because he was running a similar business.

The 'new Ryan' was totally unconvincing as a drunk. Terrible start.
I wish someone would wipe those smirks and sneers off Alya's face she is so annoying.
