Who are you and where are you from?
My name’s Calum and I'm from South Shields.

How long have you been watching Corrie?
I’ve been watching Coronation Street for around 20 years, with my earliest memory of an introductory storyline being when the Battersbys joined the street in 1997.

Who are your favourite female and male characters - and the reasons why?
Steve McDonald and Sally Metcalfe are my favourite characters for very similar reasons. They both have their fair share of believable, dramatic and endearing storylines, as well as classic ‘Corrie comedy’ moments that I love!

What's been some of your favourite Corrie storylines over the years?
My favourite storyline over the years is Richard Hillman’s reign over the cobbles.  Rather than the usual ‘whodunnit?’; as viewers we got to see his character develop into the memorable villain he became. There were some fantastic twists in his storyline, with some unexpected victims. And for me, there hasn’t been a better downfall or death of a villain since.

And what would your fantasy Corrie storyline be?
Aside from strong female characters like Karen, Becky, Cilla or Janice returning; I’d like to see happiness for Tyrone and Fizz. I feel like they’re currently the only couple who could echo the success of Jack and Vera.

Have you any snippets or news about meeting any of the Corrie cast, or trips to the set, etc., that you'd like to share?
On 27th August 2016, I was lucky enough to be one of the first members of the public to visit the new home of Coronation Street at Salford Quays. It was part of an #IAmTeamGB event, which was billed as the UK’s biggest ever sports day and homecoming for Olympic athletes. - It was surreal walking onto the new, working set after visiting the Quay Street set two years prior. Everything seemed to be perfectly replicated to minute detail.
