Heroin storyline to hit Coronation Street

Billy the vicar's painkiller addiction storyline is set to get worse when he gets hooked on heroin.  As we know already, Billy's junkie brother Lee is returning to Coronation Street.

You can read more on that here.

And I suspect, that's where Billy's heroin addiction is going to begin.

It's a tabloid rumour and nothing has been confirmed, or denied by ITV. But the tabloids have sadly been right with most of the rumours they've been posting in the last few months and so I suspect this one will come true too.

Where's the vicar's convalescent home or at least support from the bishop and diocese at times like these?

Oh, for heaven's sake!

They're completely ruining a well liked character.
I'm disappointed for two reasons - a) as aforementioned, they're ruining Billy, and b) another doom and gloom storyline.

This will probably end with Billy losing custody of Summer to that horrid, homophobic Grandmother how sad. I really wish they had recast the character of Todd.

Seriously? What next? Tyrone turning out to be a paedophile? Cannabilism in Roy's Rolls.
Please, powers that be, please sack Kate Oates before our beloved show is completely and utterly ruined.

With Todd gone and Summer likely to go to Geraldine (who might yet have a personality transplant), Billy has no reason to stay on the Street. Is this story somehow linked with his brother turning up again - maybe supplying him? I really despair at the way they ruined Billy with that far-fetched rubbish about Susan Barlow.

You'd think that after all his brother went through with his addiction Billy would see the signs in himself and ask for help. Especially with Summer there. Now that his pills from Adam ran out wouldn't he just go back to the doctors? Wouldn't he then find out that Adam's pills were wonky? Sigh

The continued torment of this character is getting hard to watch. I'll give the actor credit for his handling of the material he's been given. But Billy's story, like so many others now, just feels forced for the sake of over the top drama. Everything lately feels like "you think it's bad now...just wait, you think it can't get worse...it can, you think we won't go there...we will!!" But I guess ratings are king, so bring on the dopplegangers and supernatural stories. I at least hope Adam gets what's coming to him at the end of this, what a sleaze.

Anonymous, your remark about King Lear and kill, kill, kill, kill really did make me laugh - the first time I have laughed about Corrie St. in a long time. Thank you.
