Pop the question on the cobbles on Valentine's Day

If you're thinking of proposing to your partner this Valentine’s Day and you happen to be on the Coronation Street set tour when you do it, you'll received a bottle of bubbly and a box of chocolates to celebrate.

And I can personally recommend Maxine's bench as a suitable place to sit if you are going to propose, or indeed be proposed to. What a wonderful spot. It was good enough for Ken's second proposal to Deirdre too.

However, if you don't get the answer you're hoping for when you pop the question, then you will receive a tub of ice cream to help cheer you up.

Coronation Street The Tour General Manager, Andy Begg said:

“Coronation Street is a big part of millions of people’s lives and so it makes sense that they would like to carry out an important life event here by proposing to their loved ones on the old Corrie cobbles. As it’s Valentine’s Day we wanted to make it that little bit more special by gifting the newly engaged couples with champagne and chocolates."

As well as getting engaged at The Tour couples can also tie the knot inside the Rovers Return. Tour operator Continuum Attractions applied for a licence following demand from fans. They are no strangers to hosting weddings in unique venues with other attractions Spinnaker Tower and Kent Life also holding a licence.
