Coronation Street writer Jonathan Harvey was interviewed on the Graham Norton radio show this weekend.
Jonathan talks about his new novel, The Confusion of Karen Carpenter and says he's writing his third novel now, entitled The Girl Who Just Showed Up.
His first novel All She Wants has been commissioned by ITV for a possible six part television comedy and Jonathan has delivered the first episode to them. "Fingers crossed," says Jonathan that the episode will be successful and the six part series will be made.
About his work as a scriptwriter on Coronation Street, Jonathan talks about how hard it's been writing emotionally draining scenes for the demise of Hayley Cropper. "It's the end of an era," he says, talking about Julie Hesmondhalgh leaving the soap and Hayley dying.
He's been writing for Corrie for almost 10 years now and says "it's the best job in the world.".
You can listen to the show for a few more days online here. Jonathan starts talking around 2 hrs and 37 mins.
