So there's Eva, wanting to help out in the Bistro. She pretends she has a dentist appointment and takes the afternoon off. What are the odds that she'll get caught out? Pretty flaming high, I'd say. She's skiving work to put in a few hours 40 feet away from her workplace. Naturally, Michelle went into the newly opened Bistro and Eva was busted.
Izzy is feeling a bit guilty for rubbing Tina's nose in it, having the welcome home party for the baby right under her nose. Then she and Gary decide they'll just think of themselves from now on. Um. Isn't that exactly what they were doing when they insensitively agreed to have the party in the Rovers when Gloria offered?
But the worst of all was Karl. It looked like he was going to lose his lunch when Craig "confessed". He tried his hardest to convince Craig he didn't burn the pub down. Craig wasn't convinced no matter what Karl said so he agreed. Craig's a murderer and painted the worst case scenario to terrify him into keeping quiet. Telling a kid that is going to make Craig's guilt bubble over sooner or later. What I don't get is how long were they driving before they found a quiet place to stop? It seemed like at least an hour going by how long Stella and Beth were trying to get hold of them.
Karl missed the appointment with the Registrar and Stella is worried he'll have been gambling and admits she'll swallow any excuse as long as he doesn't get cold feet. And both of those stories he spun were complete and utter bollocks but she must have been right, she *is* willing to swallow any old codswallop. She's going to deserve everything she gets, insisting on marrying him.
On the smart side, I think it's a good idea for Tina to spend a little bit of time with the baby. If she's got to live in the same neighbourhood, why not? It just might make it a bit easier and why not have the birth mother be in Jake's life as his "Auntie Tina"?

Dumbest by far is Rita-constantly with her head up Tina's a$$. That woman needs a holiday. Denis would be right in walking out on her. I'd have left long ago.
Izzy is going to start explaining surrogacy to Jake as soon as he's old enough to talk? Really?
I don't mind stupidity when the characters are actually supposed to be a bit dim (Eva, Gary, Kirk, etc). It's only a problem when the writers don't appear to realise they're making the character look stupid.
e.g. How is the audience supposed to feel bad for Stella when she's ignored so many warning signs to be with Karl? It's not like he'd be a great catch even without all his cheating and killing and gambling. And it beggared belief that Izzy would be insensitive enough to have the party for Jake in the local pub. Literally any other building would have been more appropriate.
Yes, agreed re Izzy. If the Bistro was unavailable (it was right after the accident) then they should have postponed it or hired the cafe.
Stella is pretty desperate,,,,she is the one who should be having cold feet. lol
As for the Tina situation...way to go Dennis for saying a few home truths there. Shame on Rita for being such a doormat and poor stupid Tommy....is he a lap dog for Rita - Tina - or both. He does not seem to have two braincells to rub together to have one independant thought when these two are around him.
Or they could have had friends round at home for Jake's party, or at Anna and Owen's. Or they could have gone a street or two further afield to find a venue.
Or, as neither Gary nor Izzy are known for their genius and they didn't have the party at Rovers out of spite, Tina could have just taken the night off, as Gloria offered. Sean was available to work. I hate plot holes.
And since when do 80 somethings go chasing twens after dark? Seriously? I like Rita & Tina, but not when they are put in ridiculous contrived situations.
I thought it was pretty thick of Sally to throw in "adopted" in reference to Faye as Anna's daughter while they were all having it out on the street. I know Anna and Owen are unjustified in their tactics, but Sally really had no place to take such a low blow, and I did feel sorry for Anna at that moment as it showed that Sally really might be doing anything for a roll in the hay. We still don't know a lot about Tim other than he is able to abandon women freely just like that one in Newcastle! Hope she comes sniffing around...
Sally is acting like a teenager not the age of a grown woman with two teenage girls. What a terrible example - its something that Cilla wouldve done... Tim I'm sorry but he's so creepy let him head off to Newcastle.. Stella open your eyes Karl is so not worth spending the rest of your life with you should book that special black taxi and leave the useless lot at the Rovers and go and live alittle. Tina what are you doing? Izzy and Gary should call Owen or Anna to come and watch over the baby while they catch up on sleep not Tina - I see grey skies ahead.
Did anyone else want to punch Gary, when he was throwing yet another strop in front of Tina? Ungrateful little $#!+
However, quite how letting Tina get even more attached to the baby is going to help God only knows.
And as for Karl, couldn't he just have told Craig that the fire started in the cellar, so he couldn't have been responsible. But then I suppose that would ruin the storyline.
And funniest line for me last week, was Gail telling a mahogany-coloured David that he didn't look well!
Most overused line ever written - "Are you alright"?, followed closely by "Are you O.K."? Constantly over and over again. OMG enough already!!
This is the reason I have never taken to Stella. A woman who continues to make stupid choices and yet has pearls of wisdon for everyone else. There was a credibility factor left out of the characterization on top of all the other problems.
If Karl's original intention was to stop Craig thinking he'd burned the pub down with a cigarette, why didn't he just tell him the truth that the fire was started with spirits not tobacco?
How can anyone be shocked by Sal's behaviour. The lady is a tramp...lol Always thinking herself higher than her station....yet since Kev cheated on her with Natalie the woman has not been able to keep her nickers up. Yet in the situation with bully Anna....I think Sally is the right opponent. Let the games begin I say! lol
