It's Friday again so it's time for this week's fab Coronation Street
photo. Here are a couple of pictures of Elsie Tanner. On the first she's thinking that she's ready for the knacker yard and the second proving that she wasn't as she departs the Street some 24 years later.

Two comments about those excellent photos - the first is from the lost "dry run" of episode one - the wallpaper is different to the transmitted episode, and the second is from her return in April 1976 - she carried the white suitcase on to the Street with her.
I'm pretty sure that the second photo is actually a publicity still from when Elsie returned to the Street in 1976 after being away for a couple of years. She was wearing that overcoat then, but not when she departed in 1984...
I agree njblas. And her hair was more permy when she left in 1984. That photo is definetly 1976. :)
And crucially its not the post-1982 set in the bottom pic. You can tell cos there's no ginnel!
