Listen: Corrie's Nathan "felt sick" reading scripts

Chris Harper, who plays Coronation Street's evil Nathan Curtis, was interviewed on BBC 5 live radio this week.

He told the programme that he felt sick reading how his character Nathan would be grooming Bethany Platt. He said that he has to read the scripts through for the first time on his own, somewhere quiet.

Chris said: "He's just doing horrible things and he's loving the fact that he's in control and he's getting money and he's the big man in the room. It's absolutely about control. Right from the word go for him."

The NSPCC has been working with Coronation Street producers on the storyline.

You can watch and listen to the short clip here.

Feel bad for him - he's such a good actor that I can't look at him now without feeling squeamish after this role.

Someone commented on another post that this is the actor who should have played Callum - totally agree!!!

A really good interview, he comes across and being very intelligent and proud to carry his work forward with the VCSA team. A brilliant actor that plays the perverse with real venom and poise. One of the best storylines in recent years, Kate Oates has raised the bar incredibly high.
