Sol Heras: "I snogged Kate Ford for an hour"

There's a good, long interview by Sue Crawford in today's Sun with Coronation Street actor Sol Heras, who plays Ryan Connor.

As it's The Sun, Sol talks about filming love scenes with Kate Ford, who plays his on-screen cougar (and psycho bitch from soap hell) Tracy Barlow.

He says: “There was one eight-page scene in the Rovers recently and me and Kate had no lines — it was literally just kissing from start to finish. Altogether it was probably an hour’s worth of kissing. We had chapped lips, dry mouths and both of us were needing to come up for air! We were just glued to each other — I’ve never kissed anyone for that long in my life. But I can’t complain, there are worse jobs!”

Speaking about the upcoming bombshell that Tracy will drop when she announces she's pregnant with Ryan's baby, Sol says that Ryan is shell-shocked, but decides he will do the right thing and stand by Tracy to raise the baby with her.  Sol says: “His mum says Tracy is playing games. But he takes it upon himself to be mature and, after taking advice from Steve, he decides to propose to her in front of everybody in the Rovers.”   Ooh, should be excrutiatingly embarassing to watch!

Sol was working as a painter and decorator and gardener when he found out he had landed the part of Ryan in Corrie. You can read the full interview here.

Not ANOTHER marraige proposal in the Rovers! Stupid and pathetic and done to death, along with people expecting babies that are not even committed to each other!. The writers really need a rocket up their backsides.

I honestly didn't think this story could get any worse. The writers really are scraping the barrel aren't they?! I've decided to end this comment now - these characters and story aren't worth mine or anyone's thoughts, words or time.

I quite like this storyline, Tracy is preferable as a comedy-villain manipulator rather than an evil murderer, plus I think the actress is much better at this kind of thing than hitting builders over the head.

I give up. We already know deep down that this baby either doesn't exist or will not go the distance. But if they must marry and have a family, please let them get a council house a hundred miles from Coronation Street.

Ugh. Is that doofus really excited about kissing Kate Ford for an hour?? Geezus, he's as dopey as his Ryan character. What excited him - her gummy grin or her filthy hair?

And yet another "I'm pregnant" story for Tracy??? Good God almighty. :-(

This story just illustrates how repetative and dull the programme has become. It either needs a massive injection of new blood or a reduction in the number of episodes.

I literally cringed reading the headline of this post - then I wanted to say, "I'm so sorry for you" because I wasn't sure if he was happy to be kissing Kate Ford for an hour or not. Ick. Tracy has just become panto because they don't seem to know what to do with her. I can't imagine it's any more fulfilling for Kate Ford than it is for us watching her.

How is it that Ryan's going to be marrying Tracy when she's still married to Steve?

Why doesn't Ryan suggest that he and Tracy sell their baby to Izzy and Gary? Discount rate to undercut what Tina's being paid.

Unprotected sex makes more than babies. Instead of Tracy telling him she is pregnant, how about saying she has an STD she caught from Ryan? He is a druggie who slept around whilst at Uni. Or better yet, Ryan catches STD from Tracy.

Did anyone think of giving her a pregnancy test???????
